Accumulated Depreciation

Is the sum or accumulation of the depreciation booked against long-term assets.  Depreciation is a non-cash expense and is shown on both the income and cash flow statements.  On the income statement, it reduces the amount of net income.  On the cash flow statement, it is added back and the value of depreciation is incrementally added period over period to make up accumulated depreciation which is on the company's balance sheet.
